Definitely call around for a lawyer if you can. The code's title isn't excessive speed, but instead reckless driving. Kinda deceptively written IMO.

It's 8 points with MVD if it sticks, and traffic survival school.

Not that we're out to get you, but you did just post up a decent amount of personal information and where to find an S2000 parked overnight.

I think you guys are over thinking this.

I've had plenty of criminal tickets and all the judge did was give me a normal speeding fine.

You'll be fine.

25+ is going to be damn expensive, criminal or not. The lawyer will most likely be cheaper.

So you are admitting that you search out S2000s to steal? Who is "we're"?? Do you associate with Thieves?

This sounds pretty sleezy dude. If anything happens to my car, I'll be sure to send the cops to your address first dude. I can find that easily through the IP address of your computer and time of your post.

Unlike some people in AZ, I have insurance and I also have gap insurance. I'm not worried but you should probably be worried about your reputation and making post like this.

yeah, I'll try to make a couple calls tomorrow. I'm getting some statements together to use in court for a plea bargain. Try for the charges to get dropped to Civil speeding violation, driving school and community service if needed.

Plea that I greatly appreciate the privilege of having a drivers license and that I am an Engineer that is applying for management level jobs that will require traveling. If charged with a misdemeanor, this will greatly effect my marketability to obtain a management position.

I know you are probably stressed a little but take it easy. To me it just sounded like a friendly reminder that you probably don't want that much personal info posted on a public board that anyone can see.

I guess I'm skeptical because they wrotethe ARS code for a class 2 misdemeanor, and gave it a description of "Excessive Speed" which is from a totally different code, and a lesser class 3. This is a discrepancy which counsel may be helpful in seeking clarification, or for negotiation.

http://www.azleg.state.az.us/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/ars/28/00693.htm&Title=28&DocType=ARS
http://www.azleg.state.az.us/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/ars/28/00701-02.htm&Title=28&DocType=ARS

The two codes are super different, Excessive Speed is linked to the parent ARS code for Reasonable and Prudent (typically written up to 19mph over), and thus easier to negotiate back down. On the other hand, the Reckless Driving code stands alone, and carries with it lots additional possibilities including license suspension.

^ I didn't see the code. Lawyer is recommended.

Or maybe I was just giving you a friendly heads up. Extract the stick from your ass.
