Default Front door speakers

Does anyone have any pictures of their doors with aftermarket speakers installed? I want to put in new component speakers (Boston Acoustics) but I am concerned about clearance and keeping the stock appearance. Also, where did you locate the crossover networks?
Any recommended shops with s2k experience?
Thanks,
Kirk

Doc might have photos of his install on the club website. Don't know the brand.

WLaurent is our resident expert on audio equipment, but many of us have installed our own stereos, speakers (front and rear), and amps. Electronics forum would be able to give you advice in a heartbeat.

These doors are very easy to work on. Takes a whopping minute to take them off. Or wait until the next day and have someone else help you out if you are not sure about doing it yourself.

ehhh...its dark right now...otherwise I'd go take some pics...I've got some Polk components in the doors...looks stock almost...actually with an 05...I doubt you'd even see the difference as long as the tweeter fit in that stock location

I have MB Quart's Q series components. They fit fine. I put the crossovers in the trunk, but I have heard of others putting them actually in the door itself with tiedowns and it worked fine, if you don't want to display them.

I don't know if they are a sponser on the site anymore, but Lucid Automotive has sets of speakers that will fit your S2000 so you won't have to worry about doing a lot of cutting and fitting.

Thanks for the information. I've found some info in the forum. It looks like many euro sized 6.5's will fit with no modifications. I was worried, given the space premium throughout the car, that the speaker locations would be too small.
Doc, is that a Stealthbox? How does it sound and where did you put the tools?

No, it is a custom made fiberglass box that fills the entire cubby with a 12'' JL in it. Seminole2001 has a stealthbox, and likes it. My tools are no longer in my car, since I removed the spare tire in order to fit my MP3 CD changer in that space. (I should put the tow hook in the car at least!).
I can't use our spare anyway since my car is lowered, the front lip would scrape if I put the spare on the front and moved the front wheel to the back, so I don't need the spare or tools.
