Default Fuel Sensor

I noticed that when I filled up today that the bar is showing 3/4 full even after 20 miles. So I went back to the gas station and filled it again and it still has not moved after another 10 miles of driving around.

I found some older threads that people with AP1's had similar problems where the gauge would read incorrectly or show empty.

Does anyone else experience this ?

I removed the battery cables and then put them back hoping it might reset itselft but that was probably useless anyway

Can anyone suggest Anything else I can try on my own before going back to the dealer ?

Thanks,

I used to have this problem when the car was new, but haven't experienced it in a few years. Apparently the car gets better with age.

it means the car was built on a friday or monday... friday being they rushed the car and didn't finish it properly, and monday meaning they didn't want to come back to work, and half-assed everything all day because they were tired/hung over/or whatever. Thats just how depressing mondays are.
But then you get Jon and his stock AP2 that puts down the same hp as a fully pimped 06, and thats what you call a weds. car, because they obviously did something VERY right with the car to make it put down those numbers

No i do have more, almost 26k I've been driving a lot of miles

It seems to be going down so I'll try to refill in a few days and see if it clears up.

Otherwise fuel sending unit sounds logical.

Eh...mine does the same. Don't see it drop till I get to about 45/50 miles.

Really don't care that much, I pretty much gauge it based on odometer and how hard I've been driving the car on the current tank of gas.
