From the way I read his post, he is still around and more than willing to work on any s2000, just dont expect to be getting any discounts from Earnhardt
The discount is what I was referring to...

Sorry, I don't have a garage, nor anywhere else to install an alignment rack or a lift, etc.

Otherwise, I would

This is likely your "old skool" guys hard at work again, but dont quote me on that.

From what I can see Cesar will still be doing any work s2k owners need, just no discounts
Just to add some clarity to the the quoted comment.....

None of the "old skool" group had anything to do with the Earnhardt situation. In fact none of the "old skool" group have received any discount from Earnhardt on parts, service, etc.. in a quite a few months.

Now to inject a little of my own speculation..... The relationship with Earnhardt was established with the "old skool" group, at the time the group was buying/leasing cars, referring others to do the same, and of course having service done there. My guess is that over time, this activity dropped to a point where it no longer made good business sense for Earnhardt to continue the discounts or spend money for S2000 meets (they actually paid for the BBQ, sponsored shirts, etc..).

I will still take my car there for the occasional alignment and some other services etc... since I am confident that Cesar does it better than anyone else in the valley. I will be replacing my 04 Pilot next month and will give Earnhardt the first chance at my business.

We were making drives, having meets, etc. We even tried to get the "annual" Phoenix/AZ meet going. Instead of receiving offers of help, we were told not to associate ourselves with any prior meet.

Any of the "old guys" are welcome to come to any of our meets, any of our drives, and even just to partake in the general discussions of the forum. Those who truly want to be a part of this group will make it happen. Those who don't, won't. But we didn't start this last round - that was one of the old guys.

Either way, lets get this meet planned. And if anyone has something less than constructive to post, please hold it to yourself. Thanks

I really don't see how the relationship with Earnhardt has changed. Everyone I know does refer to them when possible and from what I hear, so do all the members here. Maybe we do more of our own work than before but that can't be held against us.

In a way I am tempted to start a new website/message board because of the continous friction that comes up. It seems those controlling things are never around and no longer participate in anything we plan or discuss. There have been meets and drives almost every month (if not more) and people try their hardest to get people involved. Yet those that do not show, still hold the moderation of this board. I fail to see the point of that.

pass the torch and let the new generation prosper. and relax, no reason to get all kinds of pissed. if you just want to be upset, please, take it somewhere else, we don't need any negative attitude here.
