The guys in the wash and wax forums can probably tell you what to do best.

You're probably right. I don't seem to be getting much help here.

Thanks

i know this may sound funny but have you tried rubbing a spot real hard with some type leather polish or other similar compound?

I have seen someone before with extensive rubbing and some polish make scratched leather look pretty good. When I say rubbing i mean to the point where you are heating up the spot with so much friction.

Worse case is you buy another steering wheel

If all else fails, I'll just get it wrapped by Rick's this summer. Could use a little extra cushion anyway.

I had the exact issue. During the last cold Winter, I believe that my coat's zipper scraped my wheel. It can't be repaired, per-se, but it can be smoothed down. The rough spot will eventually wear down just from your hands on it, but to speed up the process, you can try a damp cloth to raise and clean the leather, then use a piece of polished stainless steel to rub/polish it back in to conformity.
