Leather help - Does anyone know what can help?

Default Leather help - Does anyone know what can help?

I have a scrape/scratch on my steering wheel. Its about three or four inches long. I can feel it and its driving me nuts!

i also like to know. my friend drove my car when i was outta town and scraped the heck outta my steering wheel with his pocket knife. i might just get a wheelskin to cover it up... i don't wanna shell out the cash. how deep are your scratches?

if you have cleaned and conditioned and still didnt fix it then we need our leather expert...

yes you can get some leather dye but you never know with that.

I would either wrap it and make it thicker or I would find a good one on ebay.

I'm going to try a permanent marker and some more conditioner and see what happens. If it doesn't work, I'll just send it in to Rick's and have it re- wrapped with a little extra padding.

The steering wheel can be repaired very easily. If you go with a reputable company you should be fine. The leather being black, it will be very easy to do. If you would like, I can try to find a technician in your area...

Hey, Detailers Domain, I noticed you were in Northern, NJ, I am down in the Red Bank area. It seems like from your response you haven't had good luck with the leather refinishing/repairs. Drop me a line if you ever need anything, I would be glad to be of assistance.

Uh oh, just saw the marker comment, if you want to do it yourself, there is a finish that can be rubbed into the area. This will replace the finish, not just dye out the leather. let me know if you want to give it a try.
