Normal A/C operation?
Off topic, but the instant I got to Arizona and now I moved here, I am having this problem half the time keeping it in a garage (=shade), my car has trouble starting usually in the morning, and only the first time I start up the car not the next time I start the car up after parking my car and coming back 1-4 hours later. Optima Yellow top Battery. No problems in Texas, only here.
Alright, to do this right you need to replace the Compressor, expansion valve, accumulator, and condenser. Have the A/C lines and Evaporator flushed really really well.
Here are the prices through me:
Reman compressor: $319.00 $15.00 core
Expansion valve: $31.50
Accumulator: $11.30
Condenser: $84.40
PAG 46 oil: $8.00
Flush: $30 per quart (you need a $80 canister to use this stuff)
Shipping and handling: $20.00
I would buy the parts and have a reputable A/C shop do the work.
Some people may question replacing the condenser, but they are the biggest cause of new compressor failure. They are very difficult to flush so they leak out metal shavings from the old failure killing the new compressor. The evaporator has much larger flow tubes and are very cleanable.
All and all you should be able to get this fixed for under $850.00

By noisy, I mean that I can hear the compressor engaging and disengaging. This is also accompanied with induction noise...sounds like my car is on a respirator when the compressor is cycling. When engaged, there is a slight tractor-like noise. My car was having this problem BEFORE I added refrigerant and I know for sure that I did NOT overfill.
Robert (HWY88), are you in the area? Are you able to do this repair? I really do not have the time to try to fix this problem.

Sorry man, I don't have the proper equipment to diagnose or repair A/C systems. I can recommend a good shop for A/C but they are on the high side of the price scale. They do amazingly perfect work though. Its no secret this shop is amazing though so call ahead for an appointment.
