Maybe your car is telling you to knock it off with all the fast food!

My car died in the in n out drive through once, at the same time the battery took a shit so I had 4 employees come out and push my S out into the parking lot.

Good times, after that I had to sell the car to save myself from embarrassment

check to make sure your fans work as well. just a thought also check what the AEM says, I have seen the dash start at overheating on a cold engine... thats just not something you can completely trust

He was low on coolant, so I was way wrong. But do keep in mind the temp gauge isn't entirely accurate once you swap out the stock ecu even with kpro in my opinion.

I filled it to the top when the engine was cool, and the next day, I drove to the doctor for an appointment (I am sick ) then drove back home. I did not push hard, the highest RPM I reached was like 6k. The temp gauge was normal up until one point where it decided to creep 3 bars passed the halfway point. I parked it in my garage, let it idle for a bit, then shut her down with the hood open. I came back about 6 hours later when the car was cool, and I noticed that the fluid was down about an inch and a half. I checked under the car this morning when I backed it out of the garage, and there were 0 coolant leaks. I am going to check the coolant levels again when I go home from work.

Someone mentioned the fans, I was thinking about that too when I saw the temp gauge go 3 bars passed the halfway mark. I will get my laptop and plug it in. Do you guys think I should lower the temp at which the fans engage?

IDK how it is with you guys and your fancy ecu thing-a-mabobs tune-a-majigs, but you can usually test to make sure the fans are working by idling the car with the A/C on and both fans should start cycling.

Yes, lower the fan activation setting.

Coolant will boil, while not under pressre, check your rad cap.

Also,, it may not be leaking fast enough to see a leak, so check around the turbo for leaky/brittle hoses.

Do what chris said too.

These are my protection settings in Kpro

Force Radiator fan at 180

Overheating temperature 224

I also have a low temp fan switch, stock thermostat.

Hope this helps
