For that budget I'd get a Cayman S. Think if it as training wheels for the GT3RS while you save up the cash.

If one of the newer v8 M3's could be had for your price range I say do that. That engine will be rare since they are changing it to a TT 6 cyl for the new ones.

Aside from that they have all been mentioned. Porche and Corvette are both fast but the styling is just bland to me. They are old man cars.

Wait what about an older viper?

And probably the perfect one if you want the S2000 full feel

I didn't mention any american cars because of their usual lack of features.....but the Vette and the Viper would be good choices as well...

Also with the new viper being annouced you may be able to get a nice one since people could be upgrading to the new model.

Get a 964 turbo!! You know you want to! And I'd be curious to see how you'd mod it.

My dad recently searched for something with your criteria and ended up purchasing a brand new Corvette Grand Sport. He loves it. Its fun, fast, comfortable on long trips, gets decent gas mileage, has "enough" features, sounds awesome with that dual-mode exhaust, and those giant ass tires have some pretty incredible grip. The interior doesn't seem to me to be as terrible as most people make it out to be. I've been in earlier C6s that seemed to have shit interiors, but the new ones seem pretty nice.

He's owned Japanese cars his whole life, but decided to make the jump and take the risk! He's very happy with it.
