Question on Cable Reel?
Ok I had to take the car back to the dealer because i was getting a clicking sound when I turn left a low speeds that I just started to notice.
After inspection, They said the cable reel needs to be replaced so they are ordering one. This seems surpising that after only 11,000 miles that this would go bad.
Does the cable reel do anything with steering wheel alignment or is there some other specific function ? I suspect it had nothing to do with my previous complaints about steering but not sure.
Has anyone else had this piece replaced ?
I guess I am just glad they found something this time so I don't look crazy

The cable reel allows all the horn, SRS (airbag), and cruise wires to be spun around with the steering wheel and not get tangled. Horn, SRS and the cruise control usually go out when the reel goes bad. Casing might have cracked or the cable got pinched. I have heard of it happening when somebody replaces the OEM steering wheel with aftermarket. Happening on a new car is pretty weird.
