Question on Warranty
I was considering buying an extended warranty online from another Honda dealership and since it is a honda care warranty they said it would apply to any dealership.
Has anyone tried to negotiate with one of the local dealers the same price as offered online ?
Also, my car has 7000 miles and i noticed that they have new pricing model that when the car is over 6000 miles then the warranties go up in price and then some are no longered offered.
Do you think it would be reasonable to ask them to offer the same deal for my car as a new car even though it is 1000 miles over the lowest prices. I figured they would because i still have nearly 29,000 miles before the factory warranty is up.
Any thoughts ?

I agree, warranty is just money down the drain IMO. Haven't you seen the dozens of stories in general about motors blowing because they forgot to tighten the oil bolt or kids crashing our cars? It is a complete waste to buy extended warranty. Right up there with headlight fluid, paint protection, and gold powdered air for your tires.

Go FI and screw the warranty =D
I was more concerned with Items like AC, Radiator, power windows and other things that I have seen go out. I know a compressor for the S is not cheap.
My car is stock and I don't plan on making any major mods so I am not worried about voiding any warranty.
It depends, are you going to keep your car stock the full time of the warranty? If so maybe it might be worth it, also depends how much they are going to charge you for it..
I personally never buy the warranty unless I get it for cheap and the car stays stock, the only car that was like that is my Titan truck I knew I would only put wheels on it, and I got a extended warranty for only 1100 bucks, and its also refundable or transferable..
SO I said what the hay i got it...

Never say never. I bought an extended warranty on a 1996 Saturn SC2 that I bought slightly used. Turned out to be a wise investment, as GM makes the most unrealiable electromechanical parts in the universe. I am not exagerrating - 5 power window regulators and 4 headlight motors later, the thing paid for itself tenfold. And yes that was AFTER the standard warranty...
Please be sure to call our sponsers over at Earnhardt Honda. I can almost gaurantee they will beat anyone else's price.
Be sure to mention you are with the club. Talk to David Mach and he can direct you to the right person from there.

^No one buys a Saturn, they just end up with one.
If I ever buy another GM product I will buy every extended warranty I can get my hands on. I put over $5,000 into fixing my 96 Impala SS before I decided to cut my losses. It only had 50,000 miles on it.
Honda, don't bother. I've owned more than a dozen Hondas and Acuras and NEVER fixed anything that wasn't regular maint or a recall. I had a 90 Accord I sold with 239,000 miles on the original clutch and no repairs whatsoever. All others were way less miles, but still...

I ended up buying an extended Honda warranty @ 30k miles and feel it was a bit of a waste. I got a good price on it though. Don't get any price quotes from the aftermarket people. I made that mistake and to this day I still get calls, email, and letters from them trying to sell me an extended warranty.
