Default rain question..

Is it bad for the top to get a lot of rain on it? kinda curious, because rain isn't like water you would use to wash your car? does anyone wash the top when you wash your cars? i just usually spray water on it tahts about it. Back to my first question though, i wanted to take my car outside because i haven't washed her for about a month and half because the weather has been bad and too cold and i didn't wanna go wash the car. but right now, the car is so dirty there are black marks on the back of the car. dirt marks everywhere on the doors and its just really bad, and since it's raining pretty hard i just want to go leave it outside for a little bit to get a little cleaner, that is how dirty my car is.

heh, yea I think this rain made my car cleaner. I drove in snow for the first time today. Well really not snow, more like hail built up on the ground, but it looked like snow. It was covering the road and the tops of houses.

And no, I cannot see how rain would hurt the top. And I every once in a while use some special soft top cleaner that helps a lot. I still need to get some 303 though, it's supposed to work the best for our tops.

yep. 303 or raggtop. they both make good protectants for our tops. i always head to www.sportscarcare.com to get all my gear. he's always got good prices, he's a fellow S owner, and he only sells the best stuff.

I use RaggTopp maybe once a year. The water just sheets right off and it has a good UV protectant, too. It's also fun to apply. Spray on the foam, then work it in with a soft brush...

You can get 303 at any REI outfitter store for $6.95 a bottle.

Rain water is soft water...compared to what is processed from the waste treatment plant..food for thought.
