Default Replacing soft top

So luckily my car is still under the factory warranty, and my top is getting replaced since it developed a tear in the same place that so many other folks have had it happen.

Just thought I'd let you guys know that Showcase Honda was aware of the issue, didn't really give me any crap about it, and said even if my car was out of warranty they'd probably have made a goodwill effort to at least help me out since they know it's a known issue. If anybody else has this problem and has been looking for a place to get it fixed, you should give them a shot.

I went 50/50 with Honda on the top from my AP1 after it developed the holes (Way out of warranty). My AP2 is starting to develop holes in the exact same location, needless to say they better be picking this one up 100%. The lady on the phone from HoA told me that it was "normal wear and tare," and that I was just using my top to much. I asked her where in the owners manual it states the average number of up/down usage that would indicate overuse.......didn't have an answer for that one.

I'll give showcase a try, since the asshats at Right Honda are just jerking me around. Oh and my car is still under the certified warranty for another 4k miles.

unfortunately they did tell me that the certified warranty apparently doesnt cover trim items, and honda considers the soft top a "trim item." pretty shitty on their part, but its still worth giving showcase a shot. you might get lucky.

I am thinking of replacing my soft top because of the little tares and stuff(which are really noticable and anoying). Dont even put the top down anymore because of it... I should give them a call and check on how much.

They lied, the certified warranty is just an extension of the original factory non-powertrain warranty.

I've got the same issue with my top, just bought the car used last month, so its certified, and has got the extended warranty, but yes, the ppl at Bell honda say thats a trim item, and not a mechanical problem. Bell Honda told me that HOA will cover 50% of the cost. Its those straps that don't pull the bar down thats the reason that top is ripping, and that, is a mechanical issue....

Just called my svc guy at San Tan honda...
Going to take it by there in the AM for a visual inspection and to "take photos" of the damage he said. I assume that is to show the Honda rep.
I'll let you guys know how is goes and if I trust them to have someone do the work.

Has anyone gone to San Tan for a issue with the top?

I would go to Showcase if I have to and get it done right but San Tan is so much more convienent.

If you are under the 3 year 36k then it will be covered. If they give you shit call the factory rep. Tempe covered mine 300 miles out of warranty despite having major trouble with the place they take it(whole other story).

They should cover yours.
