Just had some people join our group over the weekend. Up to 33 people attending, and I know of 2 more people from out of state that are working on their logistics to try and make the trip. They will be lodging at another hotel/resort just down the street. So again, if you are interested please contact me and I can give you the hotel information.

Adam -

Can you post the finalized list of attendees?

I don't see Joe P. on the list. I know he paid etc...

Can't wait for this drive!

Thanks Adam for coordinating what is sure to be a fun weekend.

I myself am in need of a tonneau cover (stock), if someone might have one FS, or to borrow for the weekend. I'd like something like a Vader, but I need to pace myself on spending for this 4-wheeled child of mine.

So is there a cap# of cars to this or? I can't commit yet to a deposit due to some possible travel that same weekend. Also need to c if the misses will come along or not. I about made her throw up in the car a couple times when I was driving around the Nurburgring!

No limit to number of cars going. The more the merrier, and the more the bigger the challenge of keeping things coordinated! Already planning on breaking up into 2-3 groups with group leads to keep things manageable.

PM me and I will pass along some lodging options as the Amberian Peaks is full and I cannont accept anymore bookings. At this point if people want to attend this drive, they will be on their own for making reservations.

I think as long as she keeps her eyes forward most of the time she will be fine. When she starts trying to mess around on the phone or camera or looking side to side a lot, then the stomach starts to turn inside out lol! I'll bring the go pro for camera work so that will help compared to what she was trying to do with her camera on the Nurburgring.

^ Haha that is opposite of what Jenn does. She is better off reading and looking at her phone and ignoring the road. What she doesnt see, doesnt bother her lol.

So I was approached by a member of the drive and the app Groupme was suggested. He created a group and included me and we were able to share texts, pictures, and include our location which conveniently is tied into the GPS locator on your phone. So any message you send can include your location, which can then be opened up on your phone in maps, and you can even then get directions to that location. You can also track all members of the group by GPS which can be shown on a map. That would be good for group leaders (IF WE HAVE CELL SERVICE) to check on the where abouts of the group. I know we had a drive in the spring time where we had an accident and the group got split. Obviously if we all had exchanged numbers beforehand that would have been best, but having an app like groupme that can be used during the drive would have been great. A mass text could have been sent out, and the location of the group that pulled over and waited could have been sent out so everyone could then find us and come meet up.

I want to ask everyone's permission and see if people are willing to use it. I think it would be good to use during the whole trip to update with locations, pictures, GPS locations, send warning of cops, use for emergencies, use if the group gets split, etc, etc. I propose that we give it a shot. People with passengers will be able to utilize this more and can keep in touch with the rest of the group. I would want to pre-load everyones contact info into the app and create a group. Then activate and start using the group text on Friday when the drive starts. At the end of the trip I would remove everyones contact info and delete the group. If it works well on this trip, it might come in handy for all future trips. It could also be fun to joke around with on long group drives, or could even be used to update the club on meets and events.

So if you are part of this years trip, and are open to having your info added to the group then let me know. Go to groupme.com to read up on it, and the app is free and works on most smartphones.
