I think your g/f probably just isn't comfortable with the speed then I think trying to focus on small objects when your head and the object is being tossed around creates Vertigo. My g/f said she would be down for the trip. Just need to button up one other plan and a vacation day.

The app sounds cool. I'd be willing to use it.

Glympse is pretty cool. I like that groupme allows texts, pictures, and more. I am going to keep playing with groupme in the mean time.

Another nice thing about GroupMe is that we can still include non-smartphone app users since it uses SMS as a baseline. Could be useful for those spotty areas on the drive where we will have cell service but limited/no data.

Care to explain? I am not all that into FB other than scrolling so I dont know what is available.

Used groupme last night with Jenn. I thought the app allowed for live GPS tracking, which it doesnt. You have to send your updated location to the group. The app really drains the battery when you allow it to use your GPS location. I went through about 20% more battery yesterday than normal.

Ivan, glympse looks cool, but there is not a lot of info out there on their website. Can you sent group texts, or does it only allow you to track your friends on a map? Does it provide live GPS tracking?

For live tracking I have used Google Latitude (hiking), but it doesn't have a messaging component. We usually just go back to SMS/iMessage. I'm gonna search too for an app/service that does location services & messaging all-in-one.
