Windshield Replacment
I have been doing some research online and it is likely your premiums will increase if you go through insurance.
The discounted present value increase in premiums is probable to outweigh paying for the new windshield outright. The glass claim will be added to what is called the CLUE database that is freely shared amongst insurers. The claim will follow you through the database for five years.

Well I kinda assumed that.... After all insurance companies are in it to collect $$$$ not pay it out!
I am sure they would really be ticked off since I have the $0 deductable glass coverage!
Now are you refering to the ANY glass claim or just a claim for the OEM high dollar glass?

OEM windscreen is made by Asahi, The general conclusion is that most hold up the same but the issue comes down to clarity of the glass.
PPG $300
OEM $650
While insurance wont be happy about it you can force OEM glass and I have never heard of a glass claim affecting your rates.
Factoid: OEM windscreen for the NSX is thinner then aftermarket's to save about 2 pounds.

SanTan Honda lists a Honda windshield at $321.70 plus $176.67 (ripoff) for the weatherstripping.

I had multiple OEM windshields installed on my S2000's through State Farm. I have Progressive now and they won't do OEM glass once you go over 12k miles so I only got one from them. Now I have a cheap knock-off windshield lol. I can't tell the diff expect it doesn't say H in the corner. It has the same dots and seems perfectly clear to me.
I have replaced seven windshields in the past five years and my rates have not gone up. I did see the claims on my record when I switched companies but no increase in rate.

Well I guess I'm replacing mine. I had my connection get me a price QUOTE for the entire windshield setup from Honda. They misunderstood me and ordered it to. Total came to $434 out the door, not to bad I guess. Getting glass coverage after this though. Ill have my body shop guy install it.
