I have been doing some research online and it is likely your premiums will increase if you go through insurance.

The discounted present value increase in premiums is probable to outweigh paying for the new windshield outright. The glass claim will be added to what is called the CLUE database that is freely shared amongst insurers. The claim will follow you through the database for five years.
Well just had my policy renew after I got the new OEM windshield.
6 month policy jumped from $653 to $827 with Ameriprise/Costco!!!

Not very happy, thinking of jumping to another company again after this.

Yup, you pay them $1300 for 4 years and then have a $600 glass claim. You tell them you want good glass and they bump you up $400 a year for a couple years.

I F@%KING HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES!!!!! SCUM OF THE EARTH!!!
