CDV removal
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to take it out. In my particular case, on a hard 1-2 shift or 2-3 shift the car WOT will only accelerate 1-2 mph in 2nd (or 3rd) gear w/ the pedal to the floor. If you keep the pedal hammered, it will keep stalling (i guess?) until you let go and clutch in. I'm not sure if this is what you guys are calling slippage. Its pretty noticeable, as I am a perfectionist - it bothers the hell out of me. ha.
i wish i could drive your car hard to find out. my car has 45K miles and i drag my car as you know. but i never had a problem with the CDV. i can chirp my tires so hard at 1-2 shift that VSA will kick in. odd, i heard that if you take it out it will cause more slippage to a non-experience driver do to the 23 pound flywheel and the weak pressure plate. i mean if you can rev match it wont really affect anything. but i wonder if that lady took it out.
i mean, really, a lady could be the name on the car but her son drove it. for example, my car is under my dad's name and my name is under his name for cheaper insurance.

Hmmm what you are describing is clutch slipping. On a hard shift, i.e. 1-2 shift whenever you put it in gear and gas it if the revs hold followed by rpms dropping and then accelerating it sounds more as if your clutch is starting to fail. I wouldn't neccesarily say the pressure plates in our car are weak however the heavier flywheel does tend to put more pressure on the rear end in agressive stomps on the gas. I have been through three clutches and you have symptoms on a failing clutch. However, the cdv does not help this at all. I am sure Fadi can chime in on this has having a boosted vehicle things tend to fail faster

Alan, I'll let you drive it soon. I'm sure it will be fine when you drive it since you've been drivin the S for awhile, but you may see what I'm talkin about.
Fadi - what ya think about it?
I hate breaking things! So much time and effort. Hopefully my stock s2000 will stay together for a while.Come by sometime and let me drive it again. If its what was happening when we went and bought the car then its not clutch slippage...it was cdv. You can take it out, see how it runs, and if its still the same then its your clutch. But when i tested the car for you, that thing it was doing is definitely the cdv.

The cdv does not know the wear of a clutch it simply will just delay like it should. However the age of the clutch fluid, driving style, some factors, and mileage do tend to make an effect.
he felt the cdv today w/ a "whoa" bout .1 sec into it. lol.
