You guys have a ball. Stay safe and stay between the mustard and the mayo.

...or you might end up ketchup! Thanks Mike, wish you could make it. We'll just have to have twice as much fun at DBR08 to make up for it.

We should be able to do that at the beer swap alone. Then the rest of the fun will just be gravy.

It looks like my friends wont be able to make it for the 12-15...

Soooo, I found out that the Carolina crew has an "unofficial" dragon event at the end of june called "McDragon". What do you say we head up there for that? At least then we will be in the presence of other s2000's!

The dates are 27-29, but I'd like to make it up there for the 26th... if I'm driving the 500 miles, I'd like to be there for at least 3 full days.

Check out this thread and let me know:

I spent most of that trip in second gear at 7000-9000 rpm.
That pretty much does it for me. I really don't want any part of that kind of driving on public roads with other cars. I'd go for a scenic drive, but not for the sport.

Have fun guys, and be safe.

I just booked my room at fontana. If you intend on going you should call and book a room now. Last time I went I stayed in a cabin (which is more expensive) but this time I booked a lodge room which is much nicer (and CHEAPER!).. If you want a lodge room you need to call immediately because there is only 1 left. After that is gone you will have to book an expensive cabin because most of the cheap ones are gone. If you don't get the lodge room I can change my reservation to a two bedroom cabin and we can split the cost.

I booked a room for june 26-29. Make sure they know that you are staying the nights of 26,27,28, and leaving the morning of the 29th, so they will only charge you for 3 nights. When you call tell them you are with the "Dragon Slayers Club" to get 15% off a cabin or 25% a lodge room. The Saturn/Sky roadsters will also be up there that weekend.

Let me know what happens.

I guess it isn't everyone's cup of tea (as perfectly demonstrated by the rest of the NO crew). I can respect YOUR decision not to participate because YOU have valid concerns, and are not willing to take the risks that are involved. Keep it on the track Benson, because that is when you are in your element, and you are certainly good at what you do.

It's tough to be safe and have fun at the same time, but I managed last time so I promise I will do my best!!

mike,
i'm tired of hearing u bashing us about the dragon man - let it go. we all have valid concerns too. just because benson says he can't do it, you're ok with that. hmm? some of us have kids, and expenses are high when it comes to that. who knows, bad brakes, worn tires, whatever the reason, along with the price of gas, i cannot justify going up that way and drive back. going to orlando for a summer vacay, i can deal with that. i go to houston 1-2 times a month, so i have enough miles and seat time each month. we all enjoy cruisin the car for what it is, so if u want to fund our expenses, then maybe we'll be up for it. if not, just keep your comments to yourself.

- end of rant

any more concerns, come say it to my face, not online.
