I'VE GOT THE BUG!
Well compared to the k&n fipk it did. But it just felt like it wasn't given enough air. It didn't bog but it felt like it didn't have enough horses like it should be when taking off. After I got the aem v2, everything was much better no heat soaking and no under power. But the trade off was being more careful in the rain.
had a cel read yesterday that said my air filter or something was clogged and i've got a v2... not too sure what could be clogged. maybe a vacuum hose? but it feels like it's being zapped of power also.
U should consider cleaning it. Don't scrub it. What u need to do is find a bucket taller than the filter. Fill the bucket with soapy water that is mixed with dish washing soap. But don't fill the water taller than the filter. Fill the bucket to the height of the filter material not to the neck. And soak for a very very long time. And then rinse and dry.

now, when the autozone guy saw that, he said the air filter just might be dirty. however, i have a few choice words for the guy due to the fact that he practically crushed the passenger side bolster with his fat ass... i did NOT invite him into my car... so, due to his neglect for a nice car that i care passionately about, his credibility is shattered.

lol not so nice. I imagine you had to bite your tongue when he did that. And yes that code is for the air system when you initially start your car and you hear that whine from the motor. That is the air system helping pull fresh air into the motor. Check the fuse and also check a hose that goes into the black box that is located on the I beam in the engine bay. That may have come unplugged.
i'm looking in the manual right now and there are 2 or 3 fuses having to do with air. which one is it? i'm soaking my BLACK air filter right now. it was long overdue.

i think my problem was a kinked hose. it seems like i've pulled that code before but it doesn't come back on for a while. also, in the back of my mind, i remembered a hose that i wasn't 100% about a while back that used to be WAY kinked right when i put on my v2 and i finally got it to a manageable position. i let a tiny bit more slack in it and it didn't look like it was trying to fold. in the meantime, still got my filter soaking. i'll probably change the water out and let it soak until i get off work tomorrow before i rinse it out real well.
