This is where the Talihena group is staying on Friday night.

Its close to Hot Springs and on some fun roads. You could always meet up there too or you can have the people that want to drive on Saturday meet up with you if you make a reasonable start time. Our drive is going to basically head back west towards Oklahoma and end in the afternoon (which gives us Dallas folk time to drive home)

That sounds like a strong possibility. I'll look at possible routes from Mt. Ida to hwy 7 and see if we can make a run of it. We can always start a little later in the morning to give everyone a little extra recoup time.

I would be interested. As a suggestion, you might start or end the tour atop Mount Nebo (Hwy 155) just 7 miles west of
Dardanelle and Hwy 7. Mount Nebo has some great hairpin turns and beautiful vistas overlooking the Arkansas River Valley.

Thanks Jerome! I'm most definitely up for suggestions. Any insight you have is very much appreciated!

Jerome, take a look at this route and see if you think that it might be suitable. I have yet to drive it, but it looks like a good possibility.

Mr. flannery77, Route from Mt. Ida to Mt. Nebo looks great. From top
of Mt. Nebo, we could go to a restaurant in Russellville to eat before
driving to our homes. Sunday, 5 June is good for me. I have not been
to Mt. Ida since (at age 12) I attended a summer baseball camp just west
of that town in 1948!

Awesome! Myself and a buddy that will be attending will drive it in the next week or two to make sure everything is on the up and up. I'll keep everyone posted!

That little dam by Nimrod Lake (a.k.a. River Rd Recreation Area on Google maps) is a cool place for pix.

I'm thinking that after we make it up to Mount. Nebo, the folks that feel up to it can follow 7 back down to Hot Springs with me for food and/or drinks. I'm planning on making a preliminary run next weekend with Josh, after that we should have a more concrete route down. This will be a fun run no matter how large or small, but I hope some of you guys can make it! It's been over a year since my last LARGE group run (Fall 09' BMT), so I'm itchin for another! BTW Julie, I hope I can make the fall run this year. The spring run fell on a Sat. that I had to work (it's rather difficult for me to get those off).
