It was the best weekend of my life!

Thankfully it was quite uneventful (in the good way)... except for Sunday when I was forced to induce a spin on hellbender that probably saved my ass! If you care to hear details I'll fill you in.
what happend

I was trailing Raul (airgate) when I hit a hit a new patch of asphalt heading into an open, decreasing radius, right hand turn. I knew I would lock it up and possibly slide into the sheer rock face if I tried to slow down enough on the new pavement to make the 90.. Hard braking through the corner would surely result in a nasty snap oversteer even though the rubber was VERY hot and stick by this point. After giving a quick glance ahead of the turn and in the rear view to check for cars/bikes, I threw it into a 180 and managed to stop myself a few yards from the rock face that followed the turn. There was a slight chance that I could have made that turn, but I didn't want to find out the hard way!

I should have started braking when Raul did, but I believe he was redlining second gear when he started braking. I however was counting on a combination of compression from the downshift from third and late heavy braking to slow down.... but that @#$@ing asphalt threw a wrench into my plans! After inspecting the skid marks It was clear that my back end only slightly dipped over the yellow! I tucked my tail between my legs and continued on.

The induced spin isn't a skill that you use very often, but it sure is useful when you need it! If an unskilled driver had been in the same situation, he/she might not be alive to tell the story right now. These are some very serious roads. If you go up there with more balls than brains (or skill) I promise you will regret it.

school>Dragon

Good job>dragon

i'll have plenty of time to do all the things I want to when im done with school with a good job.
You'd be amazed at how much school DOESN'T matter in the grand scheme of things once you are done with it. I understand where you are coming from because right now, you just can't see past it.

I have a great job, but I don't have a degree at all. So NEEDING a degree to get a good job is one myth. However, since you are in school, and apparently close to finishing, you SHOULD finish. However, once you have your degree no one will CARE what your grades were.

Do you know what they call the guy who finished last in his class at medical school?

"Doctor."

I have a friend who didn't want to move out of his parents house until he could afford to pay cash for his house. As a result, he lived with his parents until he was 31 yrs old. (He didn't end up paying cash, BTW, he did take a mortgage.) He has been going to school part time for 16 years now. He has a bachelors degree AND a masters, but now he wants to get an MBA. He is 34 yrs old now, and is missing out on a lot of things because he is always waiting for "something." "Oh, I'll go on that vacation once I am done with school." or "I'll ask that girl out once I move out of my parents house." I am not saying drop out of school, and spend all your time at car events, but I AM saying you should find a good balance. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy and all that.

WG I can almost feel your enthusiasm! Now we really have a sense of just how much YOU love the dragon. You have a poetic talent, and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise!

Ok I don't mean to sound elitist here but how are students
affording to buy/register/insure an S2000??

When I was a student I was lucky to be able to afford an
old beater to get back and forth to school.

Honestly, I would like to go atleast once but I hate long trips on the interstate.
I bet I can come up with a route that would have you on side/country roads for about 75% of the trip.

This is a gathering of S2000 owners that you should attend at least once. It's worth the drive, it's incredible meeting other owners, etc.

You bought the S2000 to drive, correct?
