HELP!!! Cannot VTEC!
Happy New Year Everyone!
Well, after the Christmas and New Year hols, I am pleased to be back in JP and get away from turkey curry, turkey sandwiches and bad jumpers.
I had to put the car problem on hold as I had to return to the UK.
As soon as I was able to, I took the car out for a bit of town driving. I wanted to do this to be sure that the problem was still there because I had an appointment at the dealers that very same week.
To my surprise, the problem had disappeared. I tried my best to make the symptoms return but to no avail. I had so much fun I piled on 200 km on the highway too. I still went back to the dealer last Sunday to explain what happened and they spent a good two hours with me trying to work out what happened. There was no firm conclusion (especially with language problems) and I was a little frustrated because the lack of concrete answers.
However, I am very grateful to the Honda Verno staff who took their time to help me and thanks to all those respondents on this subject.
FYI: Shaken (from memory)
JPY 170,000 (includes oil and other consumables).
Others: Steering Re-alignment, tracking, 4 new Potenza's S02 and extended two year "warranty". This pushed the total to JPY 220,000.
Ouch.
