S2000 or RX7
Egad,
Just went to Mazda's website and looked at the new RX-8 This time I saw pictures of a real car
(not an artist rendition) What were they thinking???? The same basic shape is there but gone are the fluid sensuous curves, replaced by harsh angles and bulbous blisters that look kinda like aftermarket parts instead of part of the car....How they could change so little and have it look so different. Arghh.....they have turned it into a POS, hopefully it will be like the 350-Z and look better in person.
Is the RX-8 not a rotary? It may not be "anything like" the rx-7, but isn't it the sucessor to the 7?
May wind up being the only thing that is available, as a new car......

You can find everything you want to know about the RX8 on www.rx8forum.com. I think it's a pretty car but it's not a replacement for the 7 - yes it's a new rotary sportscar, but it's not as pure sports as a 7. They're talking about a new 7 for that purpose, but later. The 8 is going to hit the Skyline coupe and 350Z market. 4 seat "luxury" sportscars but the 8 will have the edge on sportiness IMHO as the others are more muscle than poise. For me it's going to provide the successor to my S - it's an S that'll fit a baby seat!!
