Oh, I see. I have the same problem. But I have given up on playing games until I get one of these http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file...ts_eyetvhybrid so I can play games in the study where I can close the door and hide from the world :-)

Just a quick update on my LCD installation. Picked up a cheapo Hicon 22" LCD with built-in digital tuner and DVD player for a little over $600 including a swivel wall mount. Opened package last night around 11pm hoping to install it on the wall within the hour.

3am. Go to bed exhausted. TV is lying on the bed in the spare room. Main bedroom wall has about 10 holes (wall mount only requires 3) and several patches of paint ripped off. Bedroom carpet has a thin layer of white dust scattered beneath wall. Heard several curses from SO ths morning as she woke up and stepped on cordless drill.

Note to self: Don't give up day job.

I'd like to say that I am a great DIYer but the spare holes in the walls of my house say otherwise.

By the way, I found the stud (upright or whatever you call it). However I couldn't drill more than 3-4cm into it and the screws that came with the mount were 5cm so it wasn't sitting up tight against the wall. Tried another position further down but same problem, so I tried it against the gyprock with the rubber casings that were supposed to hold the screws in place, also added some 3M tape to the mount to make it more secure (a little ghetto I know). Got the whole thing in, couple of the rubber casings went through the wall before my screws had a chance to secure themselves. All looked nice and tight after trying to put some weight on it, until I mounted the swivel and then the TV and then RIIIIPPP. It all came off with me left in a blubbering heap.

Will try again tonight with some shorter screws back on the stud.

Now I gotta learn how to seal those other holes and repaint the wall.

If it ain't right don't do it!!

Why could you only drill 4cm? What was stopping you? Is there brick behind there?

OK OK I'll post pics of my blunder.

Aus, it might be a brick, dunno. But whatever is behind there it's bloody hard.

You'd think drilling 3 holes into a wall would be a simple job. I had just assembled a king bed frame, two bedside tables and a 100 piece jigsaw piece frikken tallboy a couple of nights ago with barely a hiccup and in less time than it took me to disfigure my wall last night.
