i think an african safari would be awesome, but heard they can get pretty expensive.
I had planned to spend 5 weeks going through Africa and Egypt but I start a new job on Monday week so 5 weeks is too much to take.

Cashy I think that's just the way things are mate and to be honest I don't mind splurging a bit on travel since its one of my favourite pastimes and I guess being my honeymoon I'll get to combine it with my other favourite

Short term yes.....

Just looking Palau but since Alicia isn't keen on diving I'm not completely sold. If I can find out if there are dive spots that have good snorkelling it'll be a winner because the kayaking/exploring look great.

Does anyone have any secrets on different honeymoon ideas? We really want a mixture of fun, relaxing, pretty and reasonably priced. I suppose I could spend about 10k on the 2 weeks but that'd have to include flights I think.
You should investigate New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Last time I looked the travel agents were offering good low cost package deals for both.

The diving experts tell me the Solomon Islands offer the best diving and a relaxed lifestyle.

Fiji is very nice and offers everything you've mentioned (including shopping). If you haven't been before you should go at least once. If you have been before you might then consider Tonga or the Cook Islands.

Further out (and more expensive) is Hawaii. However, if you go to Hawaii I strongly suggest that you do NOT stay in Honolulu - if you go to Honolulu you might as well go to Los Angeles, San Francisco or Sydney. Honolulu is another big city with tall buildings, freeways & crowds. Much better to go to one of the other islands where you will get a real tropical island experience.

Hey Aus,

I went to Maldives and drop by Singapore, for my honeymoon. in May this year

It's a package deal from my local travaler agent,

5 night at Angsana spa Maldives 5 stars resort.
then.. 5 night in Singapore. total package is $7100, airfare included for both.

package included.
- Breaky and Dinner for two everyday at Maldive.
- water activity free ( wind surfing, scuba, snorkelling,
- they can take you out fishing, and they can cook it for you for lunch or dinner.
- you can have a pravite lunch on the beach near your resort, they take you out on a speed boat about 10 mins away from your resort. it's really nice there man.. only one table and 2 chairs and your personal butter.

- Singapore,
- we stay 5 nights at the Carlton hotel. I think is a 4.5 or 5 stars hotel,
- breaky included .

oh btw,
You get this package if you show them your Marriage Certificate.
as your partner get half price.. that is why so cheap.

Enjoy your honeymoon Aus.

And if you like snorkelling, you will love Maldives,

cause the Snorking area is about 30metres away form your room.

Black was that on an overwater bungalow? Are they that much nicer or just a frivolous waste of money?
