We stayed on above the cliff room in the Caribbean about 10 years ago. The place was 5 stars but a lot of people had trouble sleeping the first night or two due to the sound of the waves breaking "right next to your ear". So much so that they used to warn you when making the reservations.

Not quite the same Aust, imagine it more like trying to sleep next to a blow hole. The waves are a lot noisier when breaking against rock, and the hotel was literaly <meters from the breaking waves.

Black was that on an overwater bungalow? Are they that much nicer or just a frivolous waste of money?
We didn't like the overwater Bungalow, and it was pretty pricey.. and plus we didn't want to walk 40 metres or so to the beach...

we got the beach front bunglow, it's much nicer...

you'll love it there.. trust me..
