iPhone 3G
only problem with these iphones are that every man and his dog is going to have one .
be like buying a new Commodore , hitting the road and every 2nd car you see is a Commo'. Takes the thrill out of it abit .

yeah outright price indications.
Vuey im in the same boat as you though... don't like it too much when everyone has one. Like my n95.... a dime a dozen now.
Don't know if its about maturity levels....I'd say its more about wanting to be individual.

i've got a first gen iphone on 1.1.4
i'd suggest updating the firmware as it addressed a number of issues.
the 3G iphone does look v good - esp the inclusion of GPS.
the 2 main drawbacks for me:
1. Cost - whilst initial price is committed to be $US200 worldwide, that will be on a 24 month contract... 2 yr contract + $200 will be a more expensve total cost of ownership... especially given that you're probably looking at $60/mth minimum (guesstimate) for voice+data
2. no jailbreak yet. That means that no one is developing custom apps / games (e.g. NES emulator) for free... you are limited to developers who have written apps for the offical apple AppStore for which you will have to pay to download apps.
however i doubt these issues will stop me from upgrading in July =)
