If you're here for only a week, I'd pick a capital city (any city really), stay there, and experience. Otherwise, you could do the "touristy" thing in Sydney for a couple of days then spend the rest in Brisbane/Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast. Or even go to Cairns and see the islands and Great Barrier Reef in north Queensland.

I opt to stay away from doing the tourist thing. Thanks for the replies mates. When my wife and I really get into the planning (in a few days) I'll ask more detailed questions. Again. Thank you. Might try Melbourne still not sure. How about a great town with many restaurants. My wife is a pastry chef and loves to try new cuisine.

how's the cost of things there? I hear its expensive. True? We only plan to visit for 7 days.

Expensive cuz ur dollar isn't as strong as ours. hahaha. But you'll find the cost of goods much higher in general.

nah u wouldnt be able to do it all in 7 days. two cities max i reckon. plus canberra isnt that bad...just takes forever to get to esp if ur driving.
