Default 80K Service and Clutch Replacement in Brisbane

Hi everyone,

New here.

As per the topic, I'm up for the 80K service and clutch replacement as mine is buzzing as they all do. I have a 1999 car.

Where is the best place to go to in Brisbane for this? Have been quoted $1450 at HondaCare for the clutch and labour, is this about the going rate?

Do you guys have meets/cruises at all? Would be interested...

Cheers

Welcome.

Not sure about the 80K + clutch service, sorry, but the 80K service is a big one.

We haven't really had a "social" meet or cruise for a while, but a few of us here in Brisbane are regular trackers at QLD Raceway.

$1450 is cheap. The going rate from honda in Victoria for a full clutch replacement + labour is around $2000.

im going to do my 80k km service within 2 weeks.
whats i got is amsoil 10w30 oil and Ea06 filer. oem spec spark plug. Ferodo DS2500 front brake pads (after the pads bedding in, gonna swap the RDA sotted rotor on), motul dot4 brake fluid( going to do a brake and clutch flush as well), and do a coolant flush.
I did the tranny diff fluid at 70k mark, so no need this time.
hope that help

btw what im thinking is value adjustment. is anyone did it before?

hmm wouldn't you want to bed in the pads on the new rotors?? I believe you have to bed them in again! btw awesome choice of pads!! very dusty though, I just got a set put on the rear too

Hmm I haven't heard anything good about RDA, I have heard lots of good things about DBA though

from what i heard, its better not bed in pads and rotor at same time. either pads first or rotor.

and for the RDA, someone queto me 250 a pair where DBA is about 300 pre one. so I will try the RDA first

I just did my 80k service including the valve adjustment. The valve adjustment is pretty easy, there is a good write up of how to do it in the FAQ section of under the hood, in fact all the servicing procedures have been written up. The only thing to beware of is when it comes to torquing the head bolts, I sheared two of mine and didn't dare try to torque the other three. Also be aware during the coolant flush that you ensure the power is on when you turn the heater up (otherwise the valve does not open), the manual also says to open the bleeder valve on the firewall but the Aus version does not have it, so followed the procedure without opening it. When I finished and took the car for a drive it went to five bars (never usually goes above three- I have an AEM computer and the modifry driver) when I popped the hood I felt the lower radiator hose and realised that the collant was not circulating, I had an air pocket somewhere in the system. I did the bleeding procedure and that sorted it.
