Default any coin/ bank note collectors here?

kinda off topic, but i came across a pile of old notes, stuff like the first polymer $10's, a ton of Commonwealth of Australia notes, and a few other odds and ends.

anyone know of good forums or dealers where i can offload these. i doubt that they r worth anything of high value, but its worth a shot

a friend of mine collects bank notes, theres heaps of websites on peoples collection of bank notes, theres notes that were made as samples (different designs and colours but never used)... fake notes that were used during the time they were around... its a very interesting collection coz even fake notes and sample/prototype bank notes are collecters items and cost heaps!!!

Yo.

My father has a pretty large coin collection, although he hasn't ever really gotten into (genuine) banknotes. He has, however, given me some guidance on the topic.

For the most part, a banknote has to be at least a little special to bring anything above its face value. e.g. Dad has a stack of old $1 and $2 notes. He tells me they're probably worth twice their face value, and they're in uncirculated, mint condition. Would have done much better putting the dosh into the stockmarket, for sure.

If you're looking for a bit more info, perhaps call a banknote dealer or an auction house that specialises in such things.

cheers
FD

i am aware that some of the old cth of australia notes r more rare and expensive than others if they have specific names on them, plus a lot of miscuts are desired as well.
i just want to flog them off to whoever
