Default Hardtop Hoist UPGRADED

Upgraded my hardtop hoist recently. I was tired of yanking on that pulley system and having to carefully lower it on the car. So I bought an electric winch from Dealsdirect.

It's rated at 250kg so it should hold 25Kg nicely.

And I mounted it high up inside the trusses so the roof sits almost touching the ceiling. Safer for moving around the garage and allows me put the roof on and take it off in the normal parking position: front in.

You can see the controller hanging beside the roof.

And no, it's not held in place with string. I just used that to locate whilst I made up the mounts and fitted them. Must remember to take the rope off some time.

Thats cool, so are you using "hooks" attached to the blue straps to hold the HT up, or are the straps longer and meeting up under the HT? so to speak.
I find that the window seals get pinched off on my setup.
Was wondering about a better setup.

That's so RICE! LOL

The straps meet underneath. The sides have some leather seat belt cushions from my old leather accessories days. The rear seal does deform but it goes back to it's original shape in a few minutes.

I have seen some pics of a metal bracket that hooks in through the windows and presses down on the leading edge of the hard top. Wish I could find them but I can make it up from memory and some steel.
