How to check if S2000 has been in an accident?
Hey guys,
I gonna go take a look at a S2000 tomorrow to see if its in good nic. Talking to the seller over the phone he has been honest enough to say thats its been in an accident. Now how can i tell that if it was a serious or minor hit? He said it was hit from the rear.
What other things should i looking at when buying a S2K?
Thanks in advanced

If it looks like this:
it's been in an accident.
Seriously, check the shut lines around the doors and boot and where the rear bar meets the body work. To check chassis alignment you would want to get a wheel alignment done and ensure it can be adjusted to spec.

Usually when i check to buys car, i usually check the following.
Check if doors closes properly, just push it slightly and not to hard, and see how it goes well.
Check under the bonnet, and see if the screws are new or old screws.
and off course, test driving many many s2k, and see the difference.

its the best place to start . If its been in a big hit , you wil notice different gaps along the boot lines and the rear bar wont sit plush with the rear 1/4 panels .
Like MAD828 said , whats your location ? if your a local in Syd , i can get you to take it to my panel beater and he'll be happy to look at it and tell you how bad the damage is and if it was fixed properly.

panel gaps etc...look for differences in the colour of the paint under petrol station light etc...but the best way would be to have a mechanic properly inspect the chassis for any twisting or damage, probably even better to get two opinions!

also get someone to watch the car while it drives from behind to see if it crabwalkes..
pulls to one side while driving straight..
this tells u straight away if the car has had chassis damage and has not been lined up properly
