Mechanical LSD's thoughts?
Hi guys,
I'm not sure if this really applies to s2000's, seeing as I've not seen anyone with a mechanical LSD on an s2k, but I thought I would post in here rather than the skyline forums as it seems the majority of people here are mature and not so biased when it comes to things like this.
Anyway, I've been thinking of getting a 1.5 way mechanical LSD for my Skyline but am worried that it might make the car severely unsafe in the wet, and annoying to drive in carparks.
Firstly I'm not exactly sure how the things work. I heard that a 1.5 way means that it is 100% locked when accelerating and 50% locked when decelerating.
Does this mean a 2 way is 100% locked when accelerating and decelarting? If so, what's the difference between this and a locker diff?
With the 50% lock on decelerating, that would increase my chance of losing it around a corner in the wet by a significant amount right?
Also, if it does lock 100% on accelerating, when in carparks and taking tight turns at slow speed will the inside wheel chirp and/or the diff clunk?
I'm just curious is all.

Hi Tafka,
I currently only venture into www.skylinesaustralia.com
I only just recently got into the world of Nissan's too so it is all new to me at the moment. Not sure where the best place is to get stuff, or who the best people are to speak to yet.
It's a different world to the Honda world. There is soooooo much aftermarket gear. My hip pocket aches just thinking about it.
