Metallic rubbing sound from rear of car
I've just noticed that this is my first login in 2.5 years! Where has the time gone?
So, I have just had the 150k service done on the car and prior to the service I started to hear a metallic rubbing sound from the left rear at low speeds. It sounds like someone is hacksawing the back off the car. At first I thought it was a wheel bearing going and when I took it into Trivetts they said it was just the tyres oxidising!!
I remembered that I still have Race Brakes pads on the rear which are metal compound and thought it could have been a brake problem (disc needing a skim or a binding brake), but then found that the noise continued under braking and didn't happen at all in reverse.
Strangely, I left it outside in the rain last night (after a few bottles of wine) and this morning driving home it didn't make any noise at all.
Anyone know what this could be?
