Default 2010: The return of low fuel qualifying!

http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2009/04/30/offi...eturns-in-2010/

Low fuel qualifying was last seen in F1 in 2002. It was banned because it was felt that making drivers qualify with their race fuel loads could help mix up the grid.

This was faulty reasoning to start with: in 2002, Juan Pablo Montoya qualified on pole position seven times yet never won a race. The presumption that drivers were always winning races from pole was false.
This should be good. You need skill to stay on pole and actually win the race. I also think this will create a lot of early action in a race with the top driver/car looking to get to the front as fast as possible. There will be more daring, as well as skill now, being displayed in 2010.

We'll see more carbon bits flying off cars for sure....for better or worse.

JPM put pole all those times because he could take a POS car (Williams) to the limit for 1 lap. Of course he couldn't hold that type of pace for 70 laps or w/e. So thats 7 times he out drove Michael Schumacer in the BEST car. (which we all know was illegally running TC at the time)

Yup - many in F1 go fast over a single lap then fade - easy to blame the car, but just as easy to blame the driver...

Racing is supposed to be about going fast and finishing first. I really don't care for all this pit strategy and tire switching BS.
