The aim is that by associating these energy-saving, fuel-efficient technologies with a glamorous and popular sport, they will become desirable in road cars, where their use is already increasing dramatically.
Too bad the aim isn't to make the sport faster, or safer, or more interesting. If I wanted to watch a Prius race... I cant even finish that statement.

Try to make the sport better! Don't try and influence the way I live my life!

All you would hear is the sound of the tires as they cruised on by.

One of the things I love most about F1 are the sounds of the cars. 19k RPMs is unbelievably fun to listen to (and I haven't even heard them in person). Dropping it to 10k is like taking away a big part of the racing for me, I might as well watch it with no sound.

So ****** lame. Bring the V10's back, dammit. Stop this downsizing bullshit.

V10's, big, low to the ground front wings, big rear wings, slicks, no more mandatory compound change, screw KERS. GO FAST!

Lol petrol is dwindling and you guys want 19k+ rpm v10's, lets get with the program here, there is not enough fuel to go around for things like that.
Lets be happy that they didn't restrict it to N/A 4bangers, at least we get to hear the sick turbo sounds.

10k rev limit is going to ruin the spectacle that is F1.
Might as well just label it as INTERNATIONAL CART series at that point..

holy hell!!! imagine the rpms they're capable of!!! the v-8 revs to 19000, the four must rev to the moon!!!
A 1.6 liter four would have about the same rev capacity as a 3.2 liter V8, i.e., not as much rev potential as the 2.4 liter V8s they're currently running.

Haha if you really think that F1 makes that big of a dent in our oil problems then I feel sorry for you.

You're right, maybe they should shorten the races too, God knows that an extra lap around Spa might very well push us over the edge and exhaust the global fuel supply

I just read that the engines will be DI and have solenoid pressures of 500 bar, which is about 7,252psi

I think that's very awesome!!!
