I did not like Heike stepping aside so obviously in the hairpin. You fellows need acting lessons! McCheaters are prospering.
Personally I have no problems with team orders, I view it as part of racing for an F1 TEAM....but I do find it funny that the team order complainers are silent on this one...

I find the hypocrisy at McLaren absolutely laughable....they should be embarrassed with the example the set in F1.

Question is...did HK elect to move over or did the team tell him to?

There's a difference.

We will never know. Even if the FIA is monitoring communications they'd have a code phrase for it because the FIA doesn't allow team orders. But from the video it was clear he got out of Lewis' way.

I agree with Matrix that team orders were part of the sport, given two car teams as the norm, and should be allowed. But now they have to sneak around that rule with wacky pit stops and unforced errors.

Mercedes owns 50% plus of Cheaters. Ron Dennis and a middle eastern guy Ojei??? He was interviews by Peter Windsor during the German pre race own the rest. RD has final vote also.

Mercedes does want full ownership, talks have been on going, and will most likely happen once RD retires. Mercedes will not leave Cheaters and do not want to build a team from scratch. They will take over the Cheaters "deathstar" and run team as Mercedes F1 based in the UK.

BMW Sauber is located in Switzerland, as that is where Peter Sauber is from.
BMW bought Sauber, and CHOSE to keep Sauber's name for several years. They are a full works team.

McCheaters are NOT by any stretch of the imagination a priveeteer team. Possibly in the past but since 1995 when Mercedes joined as engine supplier and bought a nice chunk of the team they have been a factory team.

I can prove it;

1. Have you ever seen a Williams F1 car in ANY Toyota repeat Toyota ad, commercial, billboard, publication?? The answer is NO.. Williams is supplied by Yota but they are a privieteer. Now, have you ever seen a Mercedes ad, commercial, etc?? My answer is MANY if your answer is no, then I suggest you you tube Hakkinen commercials.

Good point Marco about the mercedes commercials with Hakkinen, Raikkonen, and don't forget Alonso and Hamilton last year.

You must have missed RD on the radio to HK...

There is no difference, whether he says "move over LH is coming" or "Heiki, FYI LH is coming up behind you" the result is the same.

BTW - the same can be said about any past team order incidence - none of us know for certain what a team told another driver.

Exactly! It's absolutely ridiculous to think that a TEAM spending millions of dollars will not do whatever it can (within the rules as they understand them) to ensure it wins.

LH was obviously alot faster than HK was so in the long run that is what's best for the team points (which = money).

I think HK is still just happy driving for a decent team and willing to play #2 when necessary.

Look how many years Rubens put up with that at Ferarri. He got a number of wins, many seconds, alot of fame and glory, and even more money.

Only thing I hear was something like the team telling Heiki that Lewis is
coming up from behing and is a lot quicker. At this point..isn't it the driver
to decide what he wants to do for the team?

The team didn't want orders last year and it caused them the WDC.
Why should they start now?

Andretti Green drivers (in IndyCar) sure don't have team orders. Stupid kids on the team cost their veteran driver some points in the last race
