At this point..isn't it the driver
to decide what he wants to do for the team?

The team didn't want orders last year and it caused them the WDC.
Why should they start now?
If it's up to the driver - why did RD have to radio HK? Surely HK can tell the difference between a red car and a silver car coming up behind him...

But you miss my point - I am FOR team orders because they make sense for the TEAM.
I find McLaren's hypocrisy a joke...team orders is another example of that hypocrisy.

Look how many years Rubens put up with that at Ferarri. He got a number of wins, many seconds, alot of fame and glory, and even more money.
And how the McLaren fans and McLaren themselves (RD) cried over it...now that the shoe is on the other foot - it's now ok.

All teams inform their drivers who's coming up from behind. Regardless it's another team or team mate.

You missed my point. I don't believe it was team orders.
I personally believe HK moved aside on his own and not told to.

^ we already know RD told HK that LH was coming up behind him...you can easily read between the lines to know what that said to HK. There is no point in denying this happened or what it meant...

theres a difference between when rubens was fast and had to slow down so michael can pass him and get more points; than when lewis is faster but is behind heikki due to a pit stop, and then catches up and is still much faster. what does hekki gain from slowing lewis down so he maintains 4th place? Lewis is going to pass him regardless (whether nicely or run him off), they're both going to lose time and just end up pissing off the team and lewis because he's not a team player.

they messed up in the strategy at Hockenheim. They should have double stacked the pit stop. But it looks like they sacrificed lewis to help Heikki. If heikki would have pit behind lewis he would have fallen further back and not finished teh race in 5th. So it was up to lewis to be blazing fast, pull a gap pit and then catchup again and go for the win.

Hekki was just slow. I know you are for team orders, and im just repeating this because i dont think this subject needs to be brought up every 3 posts when the differences and circumstances of team orders should be clear.

Like I said, you don't have to convince me...I am FOR team orders! I am against hypocrisy...

BTW - I did not specifically mention an example of team orders because in the end they are all the same - maximize one drivers advantage over a competitor...whether it be on lap 1, 15 or the last lap...
