Jesus f*cking wept.... This much uproar over the word "SLUMS"??? C'mon now, there's just way too much criticizing going on. First that India GP comment and now this.
Next up: "Lewis Hamilton is caught wearing a pink shirt. Does he even KNOW anyone with breast cancer? How dare he!"

People just want something (anything) to bitch or criticize him for.

Pretty much. I can understand where his comments stem from on both issues. He didn't live the high life as a kid, and where he lived in Stevenage wasn't exactly the best area, that's what he's referring to. Compared to where/how some other F1 drivers grew up, he has gone from essentially rags to riches, slums may not be the best choice of words but it isn't far off.

Fun fact: Esteban Ocon had a similar rags to riches story. His father sold their house/mechanic shop and hauled an RV all around Europe with spare motors, trans, tires and kart with their dog. His mother was his teacher and caretaker and his dad was his pit crew. The resilience it takes to endure that for years and years astounds me. And his family had to go up against Jos Verstappen and his son with all his sponsors and all his money.
Edit: Not trying to come at you A2, just discussing the contents of the story. Personally, I've hated British media almost as much as I hate American media. It's either bash Lewis, praise Lewis, or spread false medical rumors about Schumacher.

Not to worry eight. I took no offense.
For me the last statesman and gentleman driver was Jenson. He just seemed like a very nice guy and I loved his driving style too. Glad he won a championship for all the years he was at the bottom of the grid.

Throwback Thursday - 25 years since Michael Andretti’s lone F1 season. Marshall Pruett writes a great column that it was more than what appeared to the eye.

In the essence of all the Michael Schumacher talk going around the internet, Beyond the Grid podcast did an interview with Ross Brawn going super in depth about his times with Schumey. Totally worth the listen for any avid F1 fan.

Me too. It sure is a weird time to be observing F1 with powerhouses like Williams and McLaren at the very bottom of the list. Although I have to say that I feel a majority of their problems have been because of Zak Brown.
