I'll take that wager.
So will I - but let's make it a better bet...

If Ferrari/KR win - you (Marco) have to wear a Ferrari hat, if McLaren/FA wins - I wear a McLaren hat....

Damn, Didn't realize what I missed. I think some of you tifosi are pissed at me. My point was that he is sooo good why would he even try some things are may be considered as cheating. I mean that guy has absolutely dominated F1 for the last 10 years. Why even take a chance like that? Another comment from Varsha on SPEED(I'm paraphrasing) - The guy is a ruthless business and quite stingy, yet he is known to give millions to Charity. Seems like he has 2 personalities.

He is not my favorite but I still respect what he has accomplished.

To understand MS you have to look at history....

Note the date:
Crash Helps Senna Win Title

Published: October 22, 1990

Alain Prost of France and Ayrton Senna of Brazil, intense rivals, crashed at the Japanese Grand Prix for the second time in two years today, and this time the crash allowed Senna to walk away with the 1990 Formula One world championship. The crash last season gave Prost his third Formula One title.

Winning the race today was Nelson Piquet of Brazil driving a Benetton Ford in 1 hour 34 minutes 36.824 seconds. His average speed was about 122 miles per hour.

Senna and Prost, locked in a close battle for the title, started at the front of the pack with Senna on the pole for an unprecedented 51st time. Prost, driving a Ferrari, moved quickly in front, forcing Senna to try to regain the lead by passing from the inside. But as Prost maneuvered his car to the right for the first turn of the course, he collided with the Brazilian, sending parts of Senna's red-and-white McLaren-Honda flying into the air. Both drivers spun out into the dirt and later walked off the track.

A team spokesman said Ferrari had no plans to lodge a formal protest.

Final standing '90:
1 Ayrton Senna 78
2 Alain Prost 71

Now go back to 1989 - that championship was decided again by a crash between the same 2 drivers - this time Prost took the championship. In fact, that crash was unnecessary because Senna had to win both the last races to win...but that is another story....

Final standing for '89
1 Alain Prost 76
2 Ayrton Senna 60

So what does this have to do with MS? Well MS was not in F1 then, but I am pretty sure was watching these events.

He sees the above and notes that both events are not penalized harshly (89 Senna disqualified, 90 NO PENALTY!). So 2 of the best drivers in the world (and arguably ever) are engaged in these type of actions while fighting for the championship.

So MS makes a conclusion - this type of behaviour is permitted...

MS enters F1 in '91 - the rest is history....

So shame of the FIA for setting the precidence - I will not blame MS for his actions when other acted the same before him without being called cheaters....

Marco, now that's an interesting bet! I'd bet on KR and Ferrari... except that the team is more torn up than just losing MS. Along with one tire supplier that makes it a real toss-up. Since KR has shown race-leading ability what makes you so certain FA will triumph? Or is this just more Ferrari-hating?

How about this bet - if FA wins a WDC with McLaren, you bring up 3 cases of Southern Tier Harvest Ale. If FA doesn't win, you bring up 2.

Since the supplier is Bridgestone - I think this would be in Ferrari's favour...

I hate Ferrai less now that MS is gone. I just think FA is a lot better than KR as a complete driver.. not sheer speed. McLaren had a bad year, With FA input, as what he did with Renault he can do easily with McLaren.. the only thing that will hurt him is if Mercedes has poor realibility. My money is on FM to be better at Ferrari than KR.

I still am only a Honda Racing F1 Team fan, so Doug I dont understand you saying that where we differ. Where we do differ, is you cheer for more than 1 competitive team.. which i find bandwagonish and illogical. (And dont forget just shy of a year ago how excited you got, before FA anounced his switch to McLaren, and the answer to your question, who is hekki Kovalavin) Ive said it before, you were Loving FA last year, never mentioned being Tifosi. Soon as you heard FA was going to the team you hate, and MS was competive again, you jumped on the MS bandwagon. Tifosi is Marco, not someone who cheers other competitive Teams.

You also said your tifosi and put up a bunch of old Ferrari car pics... WTF, that doesnt make you Tifosi (Tifosi is a person who would DIE for Ferrari F1, and wish things worse than death on ANY other Team, or person who cheers ANY other team than Ferrari.. FACT my friend, and that is what I respect, because i feel the exact same way about the Honda Racing F1 Team, and even though i respect Tifosi, I hope they all die painfully), and I can prove it. A year ago I saw a guy wearing a Ferrari F1 hat in a bar. I said, i bet your not happy with your team. he looked at me as if I was crazy, then said, what r u talking about?? I said,, your wearing a Ferrari F1 hat. He replied, OH I dont know anything about F1, they gave me the hat when i bought my 360. Therefore, by your definition, this guy is Tifosi cause he owns a Ferrari. Even though he couldnt spell F1. Remember, I worship 1 team... i do not like any other team, I do tolerate Super Aguri ONLY because they are powered by Honda.. Renault Respects them also, because after the race in Brazil, they brough down a case of Champagne for the team as a sign of respect...Funny they didnt do it for Toro Rosso.

I will lay the bet I stated above because my money says Ferrari is Done... 05, and losing both championships this year proves it in my books. The Largest Cell phone company in europe agrees with me also!!!

Of course, I break even if neither FA or KR win the titles, and to be honest, 100 is shit in comparison to the emotional feeling I will get WHEN the Honda Racing F1 Team starts winning a lot next year, and Ill bet REAL money they win at least 1 WDC and WCC in the next three years. When they do, there is not a person on earth that can call me a band wagoner....

Me thinks they were a big hit...

Too bad your such a light-weight, had you had more of the selection you would have even more of these great brews on your mind.

I cheer for a variety of teams because I like a variety of teams. F1 is entertainment for me, there is no degree of competition involved, supporting 1 team or 4 makes no difference to me, they are all part of the sport. If cheering for just one team is what makes you happy, so be it; congrats in fact.

I have been Tifosi' since I learned about the word, and from the age of about 12 up to that time when I discovered the word I was a Ferrari fan. It's that simple, just because you do not know something does not make it any less factual. And if you believe to be Tifos' a person can only support Ferrari, well then on that point we also disagree.

Yes, I feel I'm entitled to change my mind. Just because I liked something once does not mean I have to follow it forever. I became a big FA fan after he won his 1st race, at the time I thought wow, I have to keep an eye on this kid. Well after winning 2 WDC I think it is safe to say that was a correct insight. And yes, my enthusiasm for FA has waned throughout this year partly because of his move to McLaren, a team I will never support as long as their engine is Mercedes, but also, as FA became less professional in the media that too has caused me to loose some of my passion for him.

Bottom line, what the hell are you going to do when I add Honda as one of the teams I support as I may drop Renault in '07.
