It's the goverment, they keep changing their minds.... like that's a surprise to us.

The original plan was very drakonian and I think they were forced to back off because of the huge influx of passport applications and their amazingly slow ability to process them. I don't think they thought out in advance just how overwhelmed they would be with applications. I know mine has been traveling at a speed equal to my S2000 during winter storage.

They ALWAYS look in the bed of the truck because I have the tonneau cover, it's just too big for them to ignore. And actually, this is also why I have applied for a NEXUS application, it is equal to the EZ Pass lane on the thruway, there is a special gate you go through and they see the NEXUS certificate and wave ya through, no silly conversations like "are you carring any firearms today?"
