I'm split on this.
Part of me says yes, for sure, you are right on target.
On the other hand the smaller teams would never be competative, there would be a few teams that won everything, and that would make the races about as exciting as the 2005 US GP that ran with 6 cars...
I'm just throwing it out there...it ain't going to happen.

About the the FIA with team orders, it's very simple, 1 car per team.
Done deal.

That would shrink the field to half...not going to happen.

Nevermind...

[QUOTE=S2000spoon,Jul 29 2008, 08:46 AM] The FIA don't even know what they ruling sometimes.

I for one want to see the teams to go all out.

Any aero package.
Any engine.
Any tires.
Any weight

Let them spend all the money they want to win.

To me..that would be extremely interesting.
I somewhat agree with you, although I wouldn't go that far. I'd just like to see more variety in F1 like the old days. Let teams run whatever cylinder, configuration they want. Just limit the displacement for NA engines and smaller ones for turbo engines. Have a set amount of tire choices and let the team choose which compound to run. Don't just bring a few and have the teams pick from those. Don't limit revs, down force, weight.

In Friday's practice they said ferrari is also using the additional paddles to regulate torque. Piquet as well has it, but Alonso doesn't have it in a paddle format.

Unfair advantage is Mclaren and Microsoft teaming up to provide a standard ECU.

Mclaren did not find a loophole they built the hole into the ECU and they know how to exploit all its capabilities.

Was glad to see this issue getting coverage and explanation on Speed. Maybe they will do an RPM segment on it. The one today was good with the crash/safety stuff.

Seems like it's been a long time since we saw one of those segments but I guess that's because the races have been on Fox lately
