Clearly...sarcasm is out of your reach. No wonder society is so collectively stupid.

Because its so hard to flip buttons while driving....please. Soccer moms are quite proficient at this as well while they dial their cell phones while driving their SUV, and I wouldn't call them skilled.
I wish they were a little more skilled, one almost flattened me the other day.

It wouldn'ty surprise me if they do need to select LSD settings corner-by-corner, just like brake bias. F1 drivers have a lot to do in the cockpit. Not to make excuses for LH but there are many pit-out incidents, usually running over the outside lane marker or running a red light, because the driver is so active in the cockpit.
barichello said that at melbourne when he ran the red light leaving pits, it was because w/ the new mclaren ecu, he has more settings to change, reset, w/e than what honda ran... so he was distracted and ran the red light

There have to be a few 'old person' jokes hiding in there somewhere...

As far as I can tell from what I read here, having the driver remap the engine on the fly is perfectly legal. McLaren just came up with a way to make doing so convenient and easy for the driver.

Now if it turns out this is some hidden backdoor into the ECU -- then THAT would be cheating.
I agree it's a clever read into the rules. This falls into the exact the same category as Ferrari's flexi-floor last year.

What is funny is that McLaren called Ferrari cheaters and that they were going against the "spirit" of the sporting rules, blah, blah, blah.

If this rumour turns out to be true McLaren make asses of themselves yet again...

The mass-damper was legal. They never got penalized for it, did they? The FIA just changed the rules later, that's all. Might happen again, I suppose.
The mass damper and the flexi-floor were both legal until the FIA refined the rules to outlaw them...same situation here.

whast funny about the renault mass damper is because it was classified as a movable aero device. good job FIArrari.
Actually what is funny is that McLaren were the ones to complain...not Ferrari. So much for your FIArrari comment....
