Actually what is funny is that McLaren were the ones to complain...not Ferrari. So much for your FIArrari comment....
i thought it was ferrari since renault and them were in dead heat for the championship. Especially since at the same time ferrari had taken out the static wheel covers, which were part of a gray area in the rule book and nothing happened about that. But yea how logical that the mass damper was banned because it was a movable AERODYNAMIC device. But you just read wikipedia, and saw that Flavio Briatore believes it was Mclaren that complained.

You don't have to read wikipedia, if you follow F1, it came out last year during the spy scandal that it was McLaren that protested the mass damper, not Ferrari.

Regarding the wheel cover - how exactly is it a moving are device?

My mistake I meant to say the rear wheel cover (which is bonded to the rim) that rotated w/ the rim and would be switched out with each tire change. Renault appealed this and FIA didn;t care.

And now many teams run them also...

People need to decide - do you want technology in F1 or not?

If you do, you have to accept that sometimes some advancements are deemed out of bounds - the flexi-floor, other times they are not - the rear wheel cover...

This applies to all teams equally.

I think it's not the ppl you need to convince...it's the FIA.

No - I think it's the people. The FIA do not complain about their ruling, people do...

The FIA don't even know what they ruling sometimes.

I for one want to see the teams to go all out.

Any aero package.
Any engine.
Any tires.
Any weight

Let them spend all the money they want to win.

To me..that would be extremely interesting.

I agree with that because some of the rules they just can't enforce easily - case in point...team orders.

I'm split on this.
Part of me says yes, for sure, you are right on target.
On the other hand the smaller teams would never be competative, there would be a few teams that won everything, and that would make the races about as exciting as the 2005 US GP that ran with 6 cars...
