I saw that coming last night during that final lap. That was nuts watching Heidfeld make his way through the last few corners.

Not one bit surprised.

I don't think slowing down was the problem. All cars slow down to a crawl after a hot lap in Q3. The problem was the way they were spread out on the track and Heidfeld had to swerve to avoid them.

Wow...a lot of hate for the ex-2 time Champ. Why? I know he was a bit of a baby last year but McLaren screwed him, imo. He was the 2x defending champ and he had a snot-nose rookie that should have known his place. Alonso easily could have been a 3x Champ, lets not forget that. Instead, we saw "Louise" as Marco succintly puts it, choke down the stretch costing McLaren.
I agree! Let's see if their "equality" extends to Kovalainen this year.

I can't stand the guy. I think he's incredibly smug in victory, and almost childish in defeat. The attitude he displayed last year when things got rough was about as unsporting as it could have been. Also, if he expected to be named the #1 driver on the team and having every opportunity within the team to be handed to him, he picked the wrong team. McMerc lets their driver go at it. Alonso is an unsporting prima donna. He's a "diva". I don't like the guy and will never pull for him to win, even if he ends up in a Ferrari.

I don't like "drama" in a racing car driver. I like someone who goes to the track to drive as fast as he can because he enjoys doing it.

I completely agree with you. Even I just don't like him and I do not think he is going to end up in Ferrari. After Schumacher's retirement Jean Todd was asked about Alonso and Todd said he is good but he is not the fastest (i.e. Kimi is better than Alonso).

Couldn't have said it better.......well I might have, but I'm too lazy to write out my feelings, it would take a long time. Your "vent" will suffice.

Wait a second. Put yourself in his shoes last year. I am not a huge fan of Alonso, but he is a very talented driver. He, in my opinion...if the McCheaters did what they should have and that is give the respect he was due as a 2x reigning champ...Alonso would have had 3 in a row. That is my point. I mean why bother signing the guy if he was not going to be THE MAN. I would have had been as livid as Alonso if I saw what was going on last year too. He had the right to be.
