Looks like Mazda is stepping up their game with an Lola B08/80 Coupe for PLM.

Looks like BMW wants to play in the ALMS game next year...

"The M3 will campaign in the 2009 American LeMans (ALMS) series. Rahal Lettreman Racing will run the team."

Maybe a GT1 entry to challenge the Vettes? Maybe a place for Graham to stretch his legs too.

I'm pretty sure the new M3 is going to race in GT2. The car was on display at the ALMS race at Lime Rock in the BMW infield promo area. Looks gorgeous in person.

If I ever hit the mega-millions I'll be campaigning that M3 as a privateer. I got to see that up close at Lime Rock and the car is a beast!

I musta missed that at Lime Rock. Too dazzled over all the privately owned stuff in the parking lot I guess

Everyone wants to freaking race in GT2 I'm sick of seeing the yellow cars race themselves. The poor little AM does not seem to provide much in the way of competition for them.

From what I've been reading the ACO's plans for the GT classes in 2010 should drum up some competition for the Vettes. Basically they're going to phase out GT1 as it is now, bump up the current GT2 cars and call them GT1 which will pave the way for the current GT3 cars to be classified as GT2.

I think BK's livery looks right at home on that Lola.

Thanks Andrew, I had not read about all the changes. Good news for the sport to shake things up a bit.

Can you expand on that a bit? Or link to an article that talks about it? Because I'm confused about the "current GT3" bit - which cars are GT3? I thought we only had LMP1, LMP2, GT1 and GT2?
