That is some impressive fab work. I recently swapped that secondary shaft to an ap2 unit and a carbonetic gear and was looking for tolerance spec for the shims. I couldn't find one in the helms so ended up using the ones already in the diff. The only spec I could find was the torque for the lock nut you have pictured. I'm guessing that torque spec is enough to set the loading on the bearings and gears?

Looking good! Is the diff from the R33 GTS the same as the 300ZX NA?

i was looking for the sepcs on the secondary shaft too, couldnt find a thing, so i used the shims that were there to begin with. Any other shim the repair manual gives you a list of part numbers for different sizes so mabe they are all the same, as the bearings should all be made the same too, the shims in the diff are there to set the gap between the 2 gears so i guess there isnt a need for it on the output shaft.
i didnt set the torque on the nut either i just tightened it to how it was before. I dont have much faith in this box lasting so it wont be a big loss
are you talking about diff specs or gearbox?

ill be keeping the brake booster after driving my friends car with no booster, it felt very awkward hitting that brake.

im not sure but the 300zxTT uses an R230 and the R33 is an R200, the number represents the size of the ring gear in mm. an R200 is more than enough for what i want
im sure if you ask google he will tell you eventually, some nissan diffs come with a 6 bolt pattern like the honda, but they are about 2cm wider and the cv cups will not mate up without modification, the nissan diffs with abs rings on them are even wider, as is the GTR unit, and the V-spec is thicker yet

if anyone wants details or advice on putting in a nissan diff, feel free to ask

the car has the box in and im customizing the stock manifold for a little setup im working on,

i dont have any videos of the car sliding unfortunately they have been lost over the years

Impressive work. Looking forward to more updates. What did you use to spray the engine bay?

its painted in 2pac from a local paintshop, i cant remember if i used the whitest pearl white they had or the s15 pearl white. I repainted it a 2nd time because the 1st white was too off beige, this coat has a single layer of pearl to keep it as white as possible, but if i do the outside this color ill give it 3 layers. i ran some brake lines but ran out of brake line half way thru. buying up some welding gear and mabe some wheels next week.

no real updates, the last 2 were from the past year or so, just the engine bay sanding and welding took about 5 weeks, so ill probably drag ass to the next update, sorry
