I am thinking about purchasing a set of TSW Interlagos 17x9 wheels with 255/40R17 tires all around.

Two questions:
-Do you know if this will cause any fender rubbing?
-What center caps did you purchase for your wheels to give it the OEM looks?

Thank you in advance!
Sorry, I let my membership expire and haven't got around to renewing it which is why pm's didn't go through (inbox is proly full).

In terms of fender rubbing, I did a light roll on my front fenders to play it safe. Not sure if I mentioned that in the build but the tabs for the fender are rolled up so they don't catch. I really wanted to avoid rolling my fenders if at all possible, but I opted to do it to play it safe as a mangled fender is worse than a light roll. On hard cornering at the track I didn't want to risk it. The rear fenders are untouched.

The center caps are the TSW center caps with a Honda "emblem" over top of them I got off ebay. I measured the inlay with a caliper and found the closest one that'd fit on ebay. They feel like they have a bit of metal in them and have double sided stick tape to stick to the TSW center caps. I ordered a few sets (they're cheap) and used the one that fit the best. I honestly dont know which one I purchased and don't even know if they're sold anymore so I'm sorry I can't provide a link. Best bet is measure the center cap and check ebay. Hope that helps.

I also picked up the pedal extender from SRP and have begun using the rolling the foot method with my heel still on the ground. I tend to use my little toe and the one over (roughly) on the brake the other 3 toes on the gas. I recommend it for anyone who has the same issues.
Cool Thx. Ya, ultimately it's a "do what works for you" kind of thing I've found. You really just gotta get out there, try it, try it some more, screw up a bunch of times, until you find something that works and is comfortable for you. I will say, keeping my heel planted while braking results in much more consistent threshold braking vs lifting your heel to blip the throttle. Cool to hear others went through the same problems as me.

Oh ya, regarding the track.. my life has been entirely pre-occupied lately by the kids (with the exception of some house projects), but I'm looking to do a couple track days in the next couple months. I will just post after the fact since it's stupid to say I'm going to do XYZ and then it comes and goes and nothing happened. FYI, the TNIA events at Dominion were cancelled for the foreseeable future or else I'd have tried the new track out.

No worries, thanks for the explanation. A couple questions if you don't mind:

-When you mention the rolled fender tabs, Am I correct to assume you are you referring to the front fender tabs as discussed here: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/102...ling-tips-etc/

-I, too, would like to avoid any fender modifications. I am on completely stock suspension on my AP1, including stock alignment and tires/wheels. I do not plan on running any spacers on the wheels. I'm debating moving down a tire size to 245/40R17 in order to provide a bit more confidence in not rubbing. Moving to 245 also seems to open up the options in tires and cuts off a good $180 on a set of 4 tires (RE-71r). I plan on getting an alignment with more aggressive camber to help grip on the track and provide even more fender clearance. Any thoughts or advice (particularly on 245 vs 255)?

Yup. I may have rolled the small edge/lip on the fender as well besides the tabs, I'll have to check one of these days when I remember and post back. It's super easy to roll the front fenders, just use a fender roller and a heat gun so the paint doesn't crack. It didn't take my long to roll them.

I didn't give it too much thought simply because I wanted to run plenty of rubber, and not have to think about rubbing at all. With the rolled fronts, I'm not worried about rubbing at all anymore. I know some folks are advocates of 245's vs 255's because they won't rub but I honestly can't comment on it. If it works I'd say sure. My car is more a weekend/track car these days so I figured what the hell and just rolled the fronts. It's a lot better than the possibility of the tire catching the fender. Ultimately I get why people opt to not roll the fenders, but I think the fronts are relatively painless.

Will do Brian. Some different dates are floating around and I'm trying to coordinate when some other friends will be out as well. We'll see what happens but I'll let you know. You still building your car for HC? I guess only problem is then there's no going back I'd imagine to TT..

Thanks about the garage.. I had dreams of a lift but unfortunately it's just too damn tight and probably not worth it for an in ground one.. Those portable ones that people bring to the track look interesting, but I'm still a little skeptical of them..

I don't think I would be opposed to rolling up the front fender tabs as the risk of it catching on those areas and the subsequent damage seems to outweigh the benefit of keeping them. Coupled with 245 width tires, that might be all it takes to avoid rubbing.

Again, thanks for your insight, very much appreciated. Didn't mean to thread jack your thread! Haha.

Mostly just hard parking lately.

I'm signed up for next Friday at Dominion. Been too damn long. Nice to get out on track and try out the new track even though the curbing sucks and it looks like driving down the Jersey Turnpike in spots with no/little runoff. You comin?

Just gotta swap the pads and maybe I'll change the brake fluid.

Not in the area any longer now that Dominion is open. I'm actually really disappointed with that track. Your turnpike description is pretty accurate for some parts of the track. It looks like a place that would be hard to really push to the limit if you intend to bring it home in one piece. That said I'll be looking forward to seeing some footage from it
