The reason for the trip out to NY was for the semi annual SHG BBQ. Some pics grabbed by Andre with my edits...
My favorite of the bunch...
the rest are my iphone snaps. I was thrilled with the turn out. High quality cars everywhere...

Car was always on jack stands with no spring to lift the car or do anything like that. My measurement method while not scientific were more than accurate to illustrate my point.
I measured 55mm of travel, either my tape is wrong, my eyes dont work, my dampers are freaks, or I made a mistake, who knows.
I believe my methods to be sound enough to prove my point that there is sufficient travel. My tire was within a 1/2" of touching the frame or upper fender. Regardless of any shock shaft travel vs wheel travel vs motion ratios etc, the tire can physically go no further. There is not a shock out that will create more travel that will allow the tire to go through the fender tub.
Thanks for the thoughts, but with my particular setup, I do not hit the bump stops on back roads or high curbings and have stable predictable management of grip at all times i've been behind the wheel. Im sorry to hear so many of you having issues.
